The influence your company has on you

How To Choose The Right People For You And The Ones You Should Avoid

Most of the time, we’re surrounded by people: coworkers, families, acquaintances, and romantic partners. These people, whether we realize it or not, have a huge influence on our way of thought, being, and living.

If some of them sound familiar, consider how much power you want them to have over you, it’s important to remember who you hang out with because most of the times these kinds of influences you have around you will include in your energy levels, in your positivity, or in your negativity and how you see life.

Here are some examples of the various types of individuals that might have an impact on your life.

1. Persons Who Add Value

Many people all over the planet want to support others, they are the creators, the ones who are all about creating meaning and taking it to others, those kind of people must be treated like family if you want to keep them and keep a long-time relationship with them.

They recognize that the point of our life is to bring meaning to those around us and they’re a constant source of meaning in your life, so make sure you give them value in return.

2. People Who Take Advantage of You

The majority of people are fast to donate, and a very few are incredibly generous, but there will still be others who are solely focused on taking. Usually, they’re the ones who conceal their calculated motivations behind a warm, polite facade.

It’s not uncommon to have a taker in your life, but you should set strict limits to restrict their impact and avoid being drained, or else, prepare to feel manipulated and conditioned by those, sometimes saying a simple “no” or “I need some time” helps fixes this issues because then people realize their own mistakes and their actions.

3. People Who Help You Develop

Those kind of people seem to have a natural talent for uplifting others, their belief in you inspires you to be stronger, stretch further, and do more than you’ve ever done before.

They actively push you to be the best while assisting you in embracing your flaws and maximizing your strengths.

…If you’re lucky enough to have one of these people in your life, treasure their presence and hold them close at all times.

4. People That Make You Weaker

It’s not on purpose, but certain people have a habit of making you feel like you’ll never be good enough or clever enough for them, like you’re not living up to their expectations. They act in hurtful and damaging ways under the cover of concern for you.

It can be painful to know someone’s true existence while you’re close to them, you need to be firm and persistent in your opposition to their messages, both subtle and not-so-subtle.

My advice, always stand for yourself and decide from today on that nothing of what other people say or think about you will have an effect again on yourself and on the way you think ever again.
